(The noble habits of the Messenger of Mercy, peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 5826
5826 - وعن جابر بن سمرة، قال: كان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - طويل الصمت . رواه في شرح السنة.
Jabir b. Samura said God's messenger was far from talkative [*] . *This is free translation expressing the meaning of the Arabic which is literally `long of silence'. The idea that he spoke only when he had good reason for doing so. Cf. Mirqat, 5:394. It is transmitted in Sharh as-sunna.
