حَدِيثُ جَعْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Ja'dah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 15868
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، قال: سمعت ابا إسرائيل ، قال: سمعت جعدة ، قال: سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وراى رجلا سمينا , فجعل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يومئ إلى بطنه بيده، ويقول:" لو كان هذا في غير هذا المكان لكان خيرا لك". (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) قال: واتي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم برجل، فقالوا: هذا اراد ان يقتلك، فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" لم ترع، لم ترع، ولو اردت ذلك لم يسلطك الله علي".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ja'dah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a healthy man and pointed with his hand towards his belly, and I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "If this had been in something other than this, it would have been better for you." The narrator says that a man was brought to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were saying that he had come with the intention of killing you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Do not be afraid, even if you wanted to do so, Allah would not have given you power over me."

حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، أبو إسرائيل شعيب الجشمي لم يرو عنه غير شعبة، ذكره ابن حبان فى الثقات
Hadith Number: 15869
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثنا شعبة ، حدثنا ابو إسرائيل في بيت قتادة، قال: سمعت جعدة وهو مولى ابي إسرائيل، قال: رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ورجل يقص عليه رؤيا وذكر سمنه وعظمه، فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" لو كان هذا في غير هذا، كان خيرا لك".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ja'dah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a healthy man and pointed with his hand towards his belly, and I heard him say: "If this were in something other than this, it would be better for you."
