حَدِیث اَبِی عَامِر الاَشعَرِیِّ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنه
Hadith of Abu Amir al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 17165
حدثنا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث ، قال: حدثنا مالك بن مغول ، حدثنا علي بن مدرك ، عن ابي عامر الاشعري ، قال: كان رجل قتل منهم باوطاس، فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" يا ابا عامر، الا غيرت؟" فتلا هذه الآية: يايها الذين آمنوا عليكم انفسكم لا يضركم من ضل إذا اهتديتم سورة المائدة آية 105 فغضب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وقال: " اين ذهبتم؟! إنما هي يا ايها الذين آمنوا لا يضركم من ضل من الكفار إذا اهتديتم" .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Amir Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that one of his men was killed in the Battle of Autas. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Amir! Did you not feel any sense of honor?" Sayyiduna Abu Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "O you who believe! Take care of your own selves. If you are guided, no one who goes astray can harm you." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry and said: "Where are you going (with this)? The meaning of the verse is: O believers! If you are guided, misguided disbelievers will not be able to harm you."

Hadith Number: 17166
حدثنا وهب بن جرير ، قال: حدثنا ابي ، قال: سمعت عبد الله بن ملاذ يحدث، عن نمير بن اوس ، عن مالك بن مسروح ، عن عامر بن ابي عامر الاشعري ، عن ابيه ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " نعم الحي الاسد، والاشعريون لا يفرون في القتال، ولا يغلون، هم مني، وانا منهم" ..
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Banu Asad and Ash'ar are the best tribes, who neither flee from the battlefield nor commit treachery. They are from me and I am from them."

Hadith Number: 17166M
قال عامر فحدثت به معاوية، فقال: ليس هكذا قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ولكنه قال:" هم مني وإلي"، فقال: ليس هكذا، حدثني ابي، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ولكنه قال:" هم مني، وانا منهم"، قال: فانت إذا اعلم بحديث ابيك، قال عبد الله: هذا من اجود الحديث ما رواه إلا جرير.
Sayyiduna Abu Amir’s son, Amir, says: I narrated this hadith to Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not say «هُمࣿ منّيِ» after «وَاَنَا مِنهُمࣿ» , rather he said «وَإِلَيَّ» . Amir said: My father did not narrate it like this, rather he said «وَ اَنَا مِنࣿهُمࣿ» . So Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You would know your father’s hadith better.

Hadith Number: 17167
حدثنا ابو اليمان ، اخبرنا شعيب ، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن ابي حسين ، حدثنا شهر بن حوشب ، عن عامر ، او ابي عامر ، او ابي مالك ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بينما هو جالس في مجلس فيه اصحابه جاءه جبريل عليه السلام في غير صورته يحسبه رجلا من المسلمين، فسلم عليه، فرد عليه السلام، ثم وضع جبريل يده على ركبتي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وقال له: يا رسول الله، ما الإسلام؟ فقال: " ان تسلم وجهك لله، وان تشهد ان لا إله إلا الله، وان محمدا عبده ورسوله، وتقيم الصلاة، وتؤتي الزكاة"، قال: فإذا فعلت ذلك فقد اسلمت؟ قال:" نعم" . ثم قال: ما الإيمان؟ قال: " ان تؤمن بالله، واليوم الآخر، والملائكة، والكتاب، والنبيين، والموت، والحياة بعد الموت، والجنة، والنار، والحساب، والميزان، والقدر كله خيره وشره"، قال: فإذا فعلت ذلك فقد آمنت؟ قال:" نعم" . ثم قال: ما الإحسان يا رسول الله؟ قال: " ان تعبد الله كانك تراه، فإنك إن كنت لا تراه فهو يراك"، قال: فإذا فعلت ذلك فقد احسنت؟ قال:" نعم" ونسمع رجع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إليه، ولا يرى الذي يكلمه ولا يسمع كلامه. قال: فمتى الساعة يا رسول الله؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " سبحان الله، خمس من الغيب لا يعلمها إلا الله عز وجل إن الله عنده علم الساعة وينزل الغيث ويعلم ما في الارحام وما تدري نفس ماذا تكسب غدا وما تدري نفس باي ارض تموت إن الله عليم خبير سورة لقمان آية 34"، فقال السائل: يا رسول الله، إن شئت حدثتك بعلامتين تكونان قبلها؟ فقال: حدثني، فقال:" إذا رايت الامة تلد ربها ويطول اهل البنيان بالبنيان، وعاد العالة الحفاة رؤوس الناس"، قال: ومن اولئك يا رسول الله؟ قال:" العريب"، قال: ثم ولى، فلما لم نر طريقه بعد، قال:" سبحان الله ثلاثا هذا جبريل جاء ليعلم الناس دينهم، والذي نفس محمد بيده، ما جاءني قط إلا وانا اعرفه، إلا ان يكون هذه المرة" .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting in a gathering with his companions when Jibreel (peace be upon him) came in a changed form. The Prophet (peace be upon him) thought that he was a Muslim man. He greeted with salam, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) replied. Then he placed his hands on the knees of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by Islam? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Submit yourself before Allah, testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His servant and Messenger, establish prayer, and give zakat." He asked: If I do these things, will I be called a Muslim? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Yes! Then he asked: What is meant by Iman (faith)? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: To have faith in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the books, the prophets, death and life and what comes after death, Paradise and Hell, the reckoning and the balance, and to believe that all good and bad destiny is from Allah. He asked: If I do these things, will I become a believer? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Yes! Then he asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by Ihsan (excellence)? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state, then know that He sees you." He asked: If I do this, have I attained the rank of Ihsan? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Yes." The narrator says that we were hearing the answers of the Prophet (peace be upon him), but we could not see the person with whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) was conversing, nor could we hear his voice. Then the questioner asked: O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Subhan Allah! There are five things of the unseen which none knows except Allah." (Then he recited this verse:) "Indeed, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah alone, He sends down the rain," He alone knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." Then the questioner said: O Messenger of Allah! If you wish, I can tell you two signs which will occur before the Hour? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Tell me." He said: When you see that a slave woman gives birth to her mistress, and those who build buildings are boasting over one another in buildings, and naked people have become the leaders of the people (then the Hour is near). The narrator asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who will these people be? He said: "The Bedouins." Then the questioner left, and afterwards we did not see his way. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said "Subhan Allah" three times and said: "That was Jibreel who came to teach people their religion. By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace be upon him), whenever Jibreel came to me (except this time), I recognized him (but this time I did not recognize him)."

حدثنا ابو النضر ، قال: حدثنا عبد الحميد ، قال: حدثني شهر بن حوشب ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: " نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن اصناف النساء"، وذكر الحديث..
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade initiating marriage with various women.

حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، شهر بن حوشب مختلف فيه، قوي أمره جماعة وضعفه آخرون
Hadith Number: 17169
وذكر ملصقا به، قال: جلس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مجلسا، فاتاه جبريل عليه السلام، فجلس بين يدي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فذكر الحديث، وقال فيه:" إن شئت حدثتك بمعالم لها دون ذلك؟" قال: اجل يا رسول الله، فحدثني. قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إذا رايت الامة ولدت ربتها" ، فذكر الحديث.
The hadith is also narrated through another chain of transmission.
