Musnad of the Syrians
حَدِيثُ أَبِي لَاسٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ وَيُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ لَاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Abu Las Al-Khuza'i, also called Ibn Las (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 17938
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد ، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق ، عن محمد بن إبراهيم ، عن عمر بن الحكم بن ثوبان ، عن ابي لاس الخزاعي ، قال: حملنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على إبل من إبل الصدقة للحج، فقلنا: يا رسول الله، ما نرى ان تحملنا هذه. قال: " ما من بعير إلا في ذروته شيطان، فاذكروا اسم الله عليها إذا ركبتموها كما امركم، ثم امتهنوها لانفسكم، فإنما يحمل الله عز وجل" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu al-As Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted us a camel from the camels of charity to ride during Hajj: We said, O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Perhaps this (due to weakness) will not be able to bear our load. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is a devil on the hump of every camel. When you are about to mount it, do so by taking the name of Allah as you have been commanded, then bring it under your control. Allah Almighty will make it suitable for riding.

حدثنا يعقوب ، حدثنا ابي ، عن ابن إسحاق ، حدثني محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث ، عن عمر بن الحكم بن ثوبان ، وكان ثقة، عن ابي لاس الخزاعي ، قال: حملنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على إبل من إبل الصدقة ضعاف إلى الحج، قال: فقلنا: له يا رسول الله إن هذه الإبل ضعاف نخشى ان لا تحملنا. قال: فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ما من بعير إلا في ذروته شيطان، فاركبوهن، واذكروا اسم الله عليهن كما امرتم، ثم امتهنوهن لانفسكم فإنما يحمل الله عز وجل" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Al-As Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him) that it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted us a camel from the camels of charity for riding at the time of Hajj.
