حَدِيثُ الشَّرِيدِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Al-Shurayd ibn Suwayd Al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 17945
حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، حدثنا محمد بن عمرو ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن الشريد ، ان امه اوصت ان يعتق عنها رقبة مؤمنة، فسال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن ذلك، فقال: عندي جارية سوداء نوبية، فاعتقها؟ فقال:" ائت بها". فدعوتها، فجاءت، فقال لها:" من ربك؟" قالت: الله. قال:" من انا؟" فقالت: انت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. قال: " اعتقها فإنها مؤمنة" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that his mother advised him to free a Muslim slave on her behalf. He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, saying that he had a slave woman from the Nubia region of Abyssinia; could he free her? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Bring her to me." I called her, and she came. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her, "Who is your Lord?" She replied, "Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Who am I?" She replied, "You are the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Free her, for she is a Muslim."

Hadith Number: 17946
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا وبر بن ابي دليلة ، شيخ من اهل الطائف، عن محمد بن ميمون بن مسيكة واثنى عليه خيرا، عن عمرو بن الشريد ، عن ابيه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لي الواجد يحل عرضه وعقوبته" . قال وكيع: عرضه: شكايته. وعقوبته: حبسه.
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The procrastination of a wealthy person makes it permissible to complain about him and to imprison him.
