حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of a man (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 20600
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن خالد ، عن ابي قلابة ، عن محمد بن ابي عائشة ، عن رجل من اصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لعلكم تقرءون خلف الإمام والإمام يقرا"، قالوا: إنا لنفعل ذلك، قال:" فلا تفعلوا، إلا ان يقرا احدكم بام الكتاب"، او قال:" فاتحة الكتاب" .
It is narrated from a companion that the Prophet (peace be upon him) once said, "Perhaps you recite (Qur'an) during the recitation of the Imam?" The companions replied, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed we do so." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not do so, except that one of you should recite Surah Al-Fatihah."
