Abu Alaa says that I was sitting with Mutarrif in the camel market when a Bedouin came. He had a piece of leather with him. He said, "Does anyone among you know how to read?" I said, "Yes," and took that piece of leather from him. It was written on it: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Banu Zuhayrah bin Aqeesh, which is a tribe of 'Ukl. If they acknowledge the share of the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and the selection from the spoils of war (ghanimah), then they are under the protection of Allah and His Messenger."

Someone asked that Bedouin, "Have you heard anything from the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) that you can narrate to us?" He said, "Yes." The people said to him, "Then narrate it to us as well, may Allah have mercy on you." He said, "I heard the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) say: Whoever wishes that the malice in his chest be removed, he should fast the month of patience (Ramadan) and three days in every month."

Someone asked him, "Did you really hear this hadith yourself from the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم )?" He said, "I did not think that you would accuse me of lying about the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ). By Allah, after today I will never narrate any hadith to you again." Then he left.

It is narrated from a man of Banu Aqeesh, who also had a letter from the Prophet (peace be upon him), that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Fasting three days every month keeps malice away from the chest.

Abu Qatadah and Abu Dhamma, who used to travel frequently to this place, say: We reached a Bedouin man who told us that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and began to teach me those things which Allah had taught him, and said: Whatever you leave out of fear of Allah, Allah will grant you something better than it. Abu Alaa says: I was sitting with Mutarrif in the camel market when a Bedouin came; he had a piece of leather with him. He said: Does anyone among you know how to read? I said: Yes, and took that piece of leather from him. It was written on it: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Banu Zuhayrah bin Aqeesh, who are a tribe of 'Ukl. If they confirm that they acknowledge the share of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his selection in the spoils (ghanimah), then they are under the protection of Allah and His Messenger.

Narrated to us by Rawh ibn ‘Ubadah, narrated to us by Qurrat ibn Khalid, he said: I heard Yazid ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir, he said: We were sitting in the Mirbad, and a man from the people of the desert came upon us. When we saw him, we said: This seems to be a man not from the people of the city. He said: Yes. And with him was a letter on a piece of leather, and he said (and perhaps he said: on a piece of a bag). He said: This is a letter that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wrote for me. In it was: "In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. This is a letter from Muhammad the Prophet, the Messenger of Allah, to the sons of Zuhayr ibn Uqaysh, and they are a clan from ‘Ukl: If you establish the prayer, give the zakat, separate yourselves from the polytheists, and give the fifth from the spoils, then the share of the Prophet and the chosen portion" (and perhaps he said: "and his chosen portion"), "then you are safe by the security of Allah and the security of His Messenger." And he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of al-Jurayri.
