A man from Banu Sadus, Disam, says: We asked Hazrat Basheer bin Khasasiyyah—whose real name was not Basheer; this name was given to him by the Prophet (peace be upon him)—that some of our neighbors from Banu Tameem, whenever any of our goats separates from the herd, they catch it and take it away. Sometimes, some of their property comes to us without their knowledge. So can we also take it? He said: No.

It is narrated from Hazrat Basheer that once I was walking while holding the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Ibn Khassasiyyah, you did not begin your morning in a state where you are displeased with Allah. You began your morning in a state where you are walking with the Messenger of Allah." I replied, "Indeed, I did not begin my morning in a state where I am displeased with Allah, because Allah has granted me every good." Then we reached the graves of the polytheists, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times, "Today, much good has surpassed these people." Then we reached the graves of the Muslims, and he said three times, "These people have attained much good." During this, his gaze fell upon a man who was walking among the graves wearing shoes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O brother, the one with the Sibti shoes, take off your shoes." He said this two or three times. When the man turned and saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he immediately took off his shoes.
Hazrat Basheer, whose name in the time of ignorance was Zahm bin Ma'bad, when he migrated, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him his name. He replied, "Zahm." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, your name is Basheer." It is narrated that once I was walking while holding the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Ibn Khassasiyyah, you did not begin your morning in a state where you are displeased with Allah. You began your morning in a state where you are walking with the Messenger of Allah." I replied, "Indeed, I did not begin my morning in a state where I am displeased with Allah, because Allah has granted me every good." Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith: "O brother, the one with the Sibti shoes, take off your shoes."

‘Abd al-Samad narrated to us, al-Aswad narrated to us, Khalid ibn Sumayr narrated to us, Bashir ibn Nahik narrated to us, he said: Bashir narrated to me, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and his name in the Jahiliyyah was Zahm ibn Ma‘bad, so he migrated to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he asked him:“What is your name?”He said: Zahm. He said:“No, rather you are Bashir.”So that became his name. He said: While I was walking with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said:“O son of al-Khassasiyyah, what do you find to complain about against Allah this morning? You are walking with the Messenger of Allah.”Abu Shayban said: and he is al-Aswad ibn Shayban, I think he said:“holding his hand.”So I said: O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransomed for you, I do not complain about anything against Allah. Then he mentioned the hadith, and he said:“O wearer of the two Sibtiyyah sandals, cast off your Sibtiyyah.”
