حَدِيثُ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Abu Waqqid al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 21906
حدثنا حدثنا ابو عامر , حدثنا هشام بن سعد , عن زيد بن اسلم , عن عطاء بن يسار , عن ابي واقد الليثي , قال: كنا ناتي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا انزل عليه فيحدثنا , فقال لنا ذات يوم:" إن الله عز وجل قال: إنا انزلنا المال لإقام الصلاة , وإيتاء الزكاة , ولو كان لابن آدم واد , لاحب ان يكون إليه ثان , ولو كان له واديان , لاحب ان يكون إليهما ثالث , ولا يملا جوف ابن آدم إلا التراب , ثم يتوب الله على من تاب" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when revelation would descend upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we would present ourselves before him and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite to us that verse. Thus, one day we presented ourselves before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Allah Almighty has said, "We have sent down wealth so that prayer may be established and zakat may be given, and if the son of Adam were to have two valleys of gold and silver, he would desire a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust. However, whoever repents, Allah turns towards him."

Hadith Number: 21907
حدثنا عبد الصمد , حدثنا حرب يعني ابن شداد , حدثنا يحيى يعني ابن ابي كثير , حدثني إسحاق بن عبد الله بن ابي طلحة , عن حديث ابي مرة , ان ابا واقد الليثي حدثه , قال: بينما نحن مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذ مر ثلاثة نفر , فجاء احدهم فوجد فرجة في الحلقة فجلس , وجلس الآخر من ورائهم , وانطلق الثالث , فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الا اخبركم بخبر هؤلاء النفر" , قالوا: بلى يا رسول الله , قال:" اما الذي جاء فجلس , فاوى فآواه الله , والذي جلس من ورائكم فاستحى , فاستحى الله منه , واما الذي انطلق رجل اعرض , فاعرض الله عنه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when three men passed by. One of them came, saw a little space in the gathering of people, and sat there. The second sat at the back, and the third man went away. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Shall I not tell you about these people?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah!" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The person who came and sat here, he sought refuge and Allah gave him refuge. The one who sat at the back, he felt shy, so Allah was shy with him. And the one who went away, he turned away, so Allah turned away from him."

Hadith Number: 21908
حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم , حدثنا ابن جريج , عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم , عن نافع بن سرجس , قال: عدنا ابا واقد الكندي في مرضه الذي توفي فيه , قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " اخف الناس صلاة بالناس , واطول الناس صلاة لنفسه" . حدثنا عبد الرزاق , وابن بكر , قالا: اخبرنا ابن جريج , قال: اخبرني عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم , عن نافع بن سرجس , قال: عدنا ابا واقد الكندي , قال ابن بكر: البدري في وجعه الذي مات فيه , فذكر الحديث.
Nafi' bin Sarjas, may Allah have mercy on him, says that we went to visit Hazrat Waqid, may Allah be pleased with him, during his final illness, so I heard him saying that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, would lead the people in prayer with the lightest (shortest) prayer, but when he prayed alone, he would perform the longest prayer. Peace and blessings be upon him.

Hadith Number: 21909
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون ويعلى قالا: حدثنا عبد الملك عن ابي الزبير عن صفوان قال يزيد بن عبد الله فذكره
Yazid ibn Harun and Ya'la narrated to us, they said: 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us from Abu al-Zubayr from Safwan. Yazid ibn 'Abd Allah said: and he mentioned it.

Hadith Number: 21910
حدثنا محمد بن النوشجان وهو ابو جعفر السويدي , حدثنا الدراوردي , حدثني زيد بن اسلم , عن ابن ابي واقد الليثي , عن ابيه , ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لازواجه في حجة الوداع: " هذه , ثم ظهور الحصر" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Waqid (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the pure wives: "You are performing this Hajj with me; after this, you must remain in your homes."

Hadith Number: 21911
حدثنا يونس , وسريج , قالا: حدثنا فليح , عن ضمرة بن سعيد , عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة بن مسعود , عن ابي واقد الليثي , قال: سالني عمر رضي الله تعالى عنه , عما قرا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في صلاة العيدين؟ قال سريج: بم قرا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في صلاة الخروج؟ قال: فقلت: " قرا اقتربت الساعة وانشق القمر و ق والقرآن المجيد" .
It is narrated from Ubaidullah bin Abdullah that Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Hazrat Abu Waqid Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him): From where did the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite in the Eid prayer? He replied: From Surah Qaf and Surah Qamar.

حدثنا ابو سعيد مولى بني هاشم , حدثنا زائدة , حدثنا عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم , حدثنا نافع بن سرجس , انه دخل على ابي واقد الليثي , صاحب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في مرضه الذي مات فيه , فقال: إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " كان اخف الناس صلاة على الناس , وادومه على نفسه صلى الله عليه وسلم" .
