حَدِيثُ امْرَأَةٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of a woman (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith Number: 27366
حدثنا عبد الصمد , قال: حدثني ديلم ابو غالب القطان , قال: حدثني الحكم بن جحل , قال: حدثتني ام الكرام , انها حجت , قالت: فلقيت امراة بمكة كثيرة الحشم , ليس عليهن حلي إلا الفضة , فقلت لها: ما لي لا ارى على احد من حشمك حليا إلا الفضة؟ قالت: كان جدي عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وانا معه , علي قرطان من ذهب , فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " شهابان من نار" , فنحن اهل البيت , ليس احد منا يلبس حليا إلا الفضة .
Umm Karam says that once she went for Hajj, where she met a woman in Makkah Mukarramah who had many maidservants with her, but none of them wore any jewelry except silver. I asked her, "What is the matter? I do not see any jewelry on your maidservant except silver." She said: "My grandfather once went to the service of the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), and I was with him, and I was wearing two gold earrings. The Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: 'These are two flames of fire.' Since then, no woman in our house wears any jewelry except silver."
