بَابُ الْعُمْرَةِ فِي أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ
Chapter on Performing Umrah During Hajj Months
Hadith Number: 757
حدثني يحيى، عن مالك، انه بلغه، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " اعتمر ثلاثا عام الحديبية، وعام القضية، وعام الجعرانة"
It reached Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed three Umrahs: one in the year of Hudaybiyyah, one as the compensatory Umrah, and one in the year of Ji’ranah.

Hadith Number: 758
وحدثني، عن مالك، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن ابيه ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " لم يعتمر إلا ثلاثا: إحداهن في شوال، واثنتين في ذي القعدة"
It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed Umrah only three times: once in Shawwal and twice in Dhu al-Qi'dah.

وحدثني، عن مالك، عن عبد الرحمن بن حرملة الاسلمي ، ان رجلا سال سعيد بن المسيب ، فقال: اعتمر قبل ان احج، فقال سعيد:" نعم، قد اعتمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قبل ان يحج"
It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Harmalah Aslami that a person asked Saeed bin Musayyib, "May I perform Umrah before Hajj?" He replied, "Yes, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed Umrah before Hajj."

Hadith Number: 760
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن ابن شهاب ، عن سعيد بن المسيب ، ان عمر بن ابي سلمة استاذن عمر بن الخطاب ،" ان يعتمر في شوال فاذن له فاعتمر، ثم قفل إلى اهله ولم يحج"
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib that 'Umar bin Abi Salamah sought permission from Sayyiduna 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to perform 'Umrah in the month of Shawwal, so he granted him permission. He performed 'Umrah and returned to his home and did not perform Hajj.
