كِتَابُ الْعِتْقِ وَالْوَلَاءِ
Book: On the Explanation of Emancipation and Allegiance
بَابُ فَضْلِ عِتْقِ الرِّقَابِ وَعِتْقِ الزَّانِيَةِ وَابْنِ الزِّنَا
Virtue of freeing slaves, adulteresses, and children of adultery
Hadith Number: 1281
حدثني مالك، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن ابيه ، عن عائشة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سئل عن الرقاب، ايها افضل؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اغلاها ثمنا، وانفسها عند اهلها"
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: Which slave is best to set free? He (peace be upon him) said: "The one whose price is high and is most desired by its owners."
