It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that someone asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ruling on bit‘ (a drink made from honey). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every intoxicating drink is unlawful."

It is narrated from Ata bin Yasar: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the liquor made from «غُبَيْرَاء» . He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not good." And he forbade it. Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that then I asked Zaid bin Aslam, may Allah have mercy on him, what is «غُبَيْرَاء» ? So he said: It is «سْكَرْكَةُ» , that is, liquor made from maize.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drinks wine in this world and does not repent from it, will be deprived of wine in the Hereafter."
