جُمَّاعُ أَبْوَابِ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ
Chapters on Adhan and Iqamah
(63) بَابُ فَضِيلَةِ الشَّهَادَةِ لِلَّهِ- عَزَّ وَجَلَّ- بِوَحْدَانِيَّتِهِ وَلِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرِسَالَتِهِ وَعُبُودِيَّتِهِ وَبِالرِّضَا بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا عِنْدَ سَمَاعِ الْأَذَانِ وَمَا يُرْجَى مِنْ مَغْفِرَةِ الذُّنُوبِ بِذَلِكَ.
Chapter 63: Virtue of testifying to Allah’s oneness and the Prophet’s message, and being pleased with Islam, upon hearing the adhan, and the hope of forgiveness
Hadith Number: 421
نا الربيع بن سليمان المرادي ، نا شعيب يعني ابن الليث . ح وحدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الحكم ، نا ابي ، وشعيب ، قالا: حدثنا الليث ، عن الحكيم بن عبد الله بن قيس ، عن عامر بن سعد بن ابي وقاص ، عن سعد بن ابي وقاص ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه قال: " من قال حين يسمع المؤذن: وانا اشهد ان لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وان محمدا عبده ورسوله، رضيت بالله ربا، وبمحمد رسولا، وبالإسلام دينا، غفر له ذنبه"
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever, upon hearing the voice of the muezzin, says these words: «أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَسُولًا وَ بِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا،» . ‘And I also bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone and has no partner, and indeed Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as Messenger, and with Islam as my religion.’ — his sins will be forgiven.”

Hadith Number: 422
نا زكريا ابن يحيى بن إياس ، نا سعيد بن عفير ، حدثني يحيى بن ايوب ، عن عبيد الله بن المغيرة ، عن الحكيم بن عبد الله بن قيس ، عن عامر بن سعد بن ابي وقاص ، عن ابيه ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من سمع المؤذن يتشهد فالتفت في وجهه، فقال: اشهد ان لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وان محمدا رسول الله، رضيت بالله ربا، وبالإسلام دينا، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever hears the mu’adhdhin giving the adhan, then turns towards him and says: «أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُهُ اللہ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَسُولًا وَ بِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا» ‘I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and indeed Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah.
