Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah
جُمَّاعُ أَبْوَابِ سُتْرَةِ الْمُصَلِّي
Chapters on the Sutrah for the Praying Person
(294) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَرَادَ بِقَوْلِهِ: فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ
294 Chapter: Evidence that the Prophet (peace be upon him) Meant by His Saying: "It is Only a Devil."
Hadith Number: Q820
اي فإنما هو شيطان مع الذي يريد المرور بين يديه لا ان المار من بني آدم شيطان، وإن كان اسم الشيطان قد يقع على عصاة بني آدم. قال الله عز وجل: (شياطين الإنس والجن يوحي بعضهم إلى بعض زخرف القول غرورا.)
The meaning of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is that with the one who passes in front of a person praying, there is a devil; it does not mean that the person passing is himself a devil, although the word "devil" is also used for disobedient humans. Allah Almighty says, «وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الْإِنسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورً» [ سورة الأنعام: 112 ] "In this way, We have made for every prophet enemies—devils from among mankind and jinn—who inspire one another with decorative speech in delusion."

Hadith Number: 820
نا بندار ، حدثنا ابو بكر يعني الحنفي ، حدثنا الضحاك بن عثمان ، حدثني صدقة بن يسار ، قال: سمعت ابن عمر ، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا تصل إلا إلى سترة، ولا تدع احدا يمر بين يديك، فإن ابى فلتقاتله ؛ فإن معه القرين"
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You must certainly pray with a sutrah, and do not let anyone pass in front of you. Then if he refuses (to stop), then fight him, for indeed there is a companion (Satan) with him."
