376 Chapter: The Obligation of Prayer While Traveling and the Number of Units.

Hadith Number: 943
نا بشر بن معاذ العقدي ، نا ابو عوانة ، عن بكير بن الاخنس ، عن مجاهد ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: " فرض الله عز وجل على لسان نبيكم صلى الله عليه وسلم في الحضر اربعا، وفي السفر ركعتين، وفي الخوف ركعة"
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Allah Almighty has made obligatory, through the blessed tongue of your noble Prophet (peace be upon him), four rak‘ahs of prayer in residence, two rak‘ahs in travel, and one prayer in a state of fear.
