Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah
جُمَّاعُ أَبْوَابِ ذِكْرِ الْوِتْرِ وَمَا فِيهِ مِنَ السُّنَنِ
Chapters on Witr and its Sunnahs
(454) بَابُ الْأَمْرِ بِمُبَادَرَةِ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ بِالْوِتْرِ
The chapter on the command to hasten to pray Witr before Fajr
Hadith Number: Q1087
إذ الوتر وقته الليل، لا الليل والنهار ولا بعض النهار ايضا.
Because the time for Witr prayer is at night; the day, the night and day, or any part of the day is not its time.

حدثنا احمد بن منيع ، بخبر غريب، حدثنا ابن ابي زائدة ، حدثنا عبيد الله ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " بادروا الصبح بالوتر"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform the Witr prayer before dawn."

حدثنا احمد بن منيع ، وزياد بن ايوب ، قالا: حدثنا ابن ابي زائدة ، حدثنا عاصم الاحول ، عن عبد الله بن شقيق ، عن ابن عمر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " بادروا الصبح بالوتر" وقال احمد: بادر
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hasten to perform Witr before dawn appears." In the narration of Ahmad, (the singular form is used): "So hasten."

حدثنا ابو موسى ، حدثني عبد الاعلى ، نا معمر ، عن يحيى بن ابي كثير ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " اوتروا قبل ان تصبحوا" حدثنا ابو موسى ، حدثنا ابو عامر ، نا علي يعني ابن المبارك ، عن يحيى ، قال: حدثني ابو نضرة العوقي ، ان ابا سعيد الخدري اخبرهم، انهم سالوا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الوتر، فقال: " اوتروا قبل الصبح"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perform Witr before the morning comes." Janab Abu Nazrah 'Awfi reports that Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) told him that he asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about Witr, so he (peace be upon him) said: "Perform Witr before the morning comes."
