جماع أَبْوَابِ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ قَاعِدًا
Chapters on Voluntary Prayers while Sitting
(551) بَابُ تَقْصِيرِ أَجْرِ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ فِي التَّطَوُّعِ
The chapter on the lesser reward for sitting compared to standing in voluntary prayers
Hadith Number: 1236
نا محمد بن العلاء بن كريب ، نا ابو خالد ، اخبرنا الحسين بن المكتب ، عن عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن عمران بن حصين ، قال: سالت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صلاة الرجل قاعدا، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " صلاة القائم افضل وصلاة القاعد على النصف من صلاة القائم"
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about a man praying while sitting, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Praying while standing is superior, and the reward of the one who prays while sitting is half of the reward of the one who prays while standing."
