جماع أَبْوَابِ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ قَاعِدًا
Chapters on Voluntary Prayers while Sitting
(557) بَابُ إِبَاحَةِ الْجُلُوسِ لِبَعْضِ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَالْقِيَامِ لِبَعْضٍ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ
The chapter on the permissibility of sitting for part of the recitation and standing for part in one unit
Hadith Number: 1243
نا علي بن حجر السعدي مرة، اخبرنا جرير ، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن ابيه ، عن عائشة ، قالت: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " يصلي جالسا، وكان إذا بقي عليه من السورة ثلاثون او اربعون آية قام فقراها ثم ركع"
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) used to pray while sitting. And when about thirty or forty verses of the surah remained, he (peace be upon him) would stand up and recite those verses, then bow (ruku‘).

Hadith Number: 1244
حدثنا يعقوب الدورقي ، نا ابن علية ، نا الوليد بن ابي هشام ، ح وحدثنا مؤمل بن هشام ، وزياد بن ايوب ، قالا: حدثنا إسماعيل ، عن الوليد بن ابي هشام ، عن ابي بكر بن محمد بن عمرة ، عن عائشة ، قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " يقرا وهو قاعد، فإذا اراد ان يركع قام قدر ما يقرا الإنسان اربعين آية"
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite (in voluntary prayer) while sitting, and when he intended to bow (for ruku’), he would stand for as long as it takes a person to recite forty verses, (then he would perform ruku’).
