جماع أَبْوَابِ صَلَاةِ الْعِيدَيْنِ، الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى، وَمَا يُحْتَاجُ فِيهِمَا مِنَ السُّنَنِ

711| Concession to not wait for the sermon on Eid day
Hadith Number: 1462
نا محمد بن عمرو بن تمام المصري ، حدثنا نعيم بن حماد ، حدثنا الفضل بن موسى ، عن ابن جريج ، عن عطاء ، عن عبد الله بن السائب ، قال: حضرت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم عيد، صلى، وقال:" قد قضينا الصلاة فمن شاء جلس للخطبة، ومن شاء ان يذهب ذهب" . قال ابو بكر: هذا حديث خراساني غريب لا نعلم احدا رواه غير الفضل بن موسى الشيباني، كان هذا الخبر ايضا عند ابي عمار، عن الفضل بن موسى، لم يحدثنا به بنيسابور، حدث به اهل بغداد على ما خبرني بعض العراقيين
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was present with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Eid. He led the prayer and then said:“We have offered the prayer, so whoever wishes to sit and listen to the sermon may do so, and whoever wishes to leave may go.”Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that this narration from Khurasan is extremely rare. To our knowledge, only Fadl bin Musa Shaybani has narrated it. This narration was also with Abu ‘Ammar, but he did not narrate this hadith to us in Nishapur; he narrated it to the people of Baghdad, as some Iraqi scholars have informed me.
