(44) بَابُ إِيذَانِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ الْإِمَامَ بِالصَّلَاةِ
44| The muezzin informing the imam of the prayer
Hadith Number: 1524
حدثنا عبد الجبار بن العلاء ، وسعيد ابن عبد الرحمن المخزومي ، قالا: حدثنا سفيان ، عن عمرو ، قال: سمعت كريبا مولى ابن عباس، عن ابن عباس ، قال:" بت عند خالتي ميمونة، فصلى يعني النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما شاء الله، ثم اضطجع، فنام حتى نفخ، ثم اتاه المؤذن يؤذنه بالصلاة، فخرج فصلى" . هذا حديث عبد الجبار
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed the Tahajjud prayer, as much as Allah willed. Then he lay down and slept until he began to snore. Then the muezzin came to inform him of the prayer. So he (peace be upon him) got up, went, and led the prayer. This is the narration of Abdul Jabbar.
