جُمَّاعُ أَبْوَابِ قِيَامِ الْمَأْمُومِينَ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ وَمَا فِيهِ مِنَ السُّنَنِ
Chapters on Followers Standing Behind the Imam
(50) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى ضِدِّ قَوْلِ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْمَأْمُومَ يَقُومُ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ يَنْتَظِرُ مَجِيءَ غَيْرِهِ
50| Evidence against those who claim the follower should stand behind the imam waiting for others
Hadith Number: 1534Q
فإن فرغ الإمام من القراءة، واراد الركوع قبل مجيء غيره تقدم فقام عن يمين الإمام.
Then if the imam has finished the recitation and intends to bow before another follower arrives, the follower should step forward and stand to the right side of the imam.

Hadith Number: 1534
نا محمد بن بشار بندار ، نا محمد يعني ابن جعفر ، نا شعبة ، عن سلمة وهو ابن كهيل ، عن كريب ، عن ابن عباس ، قال:" بت في بيت خالتي ميمونة، فتتبعت كيف يصلي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم قام يصلي، فجئت فقمت إلى جنبه، فقمت عن يساره، وقال: فاخذني فاقامني عن يمينه"
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I spent a night at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). I tried to find out how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the (tahajjud) prayer. (The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, rested for a while) then he stood up and began to pray. So I also came and stood on his left side. He (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of me and made me stand on his right side.
