كِتَاب الْإِيمَانِ
The Book of Faith
باب بَيَانِ أَنَّ الإِسْلاَمَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَسَيَعُودُ غَرِيبًا وَأَنَّهُ يَأْرِزُ بَيْنَ الْمَسْجِدَيْنِ:
Chapter: Clarifying that Islam started as something strange, and will revert to being something strange, and it will retreat between the two Masajid

حدثنا محمد بن عباد ، وابن ابي عمر جميعا، عن مروان الفزاري ، قال ابن عباد: حدثنا مروان، عن يزيد يعني ابن كيسان ، عن ابي حازم ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" بدا الإسلام غريبا، وسيعود كما بدا غريبا، فطوبى للغرباء".
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange. so good tidings for the stranger.

وحدثني محمد بن رافع ، والفضل بن سهل الاعرج ، قالا: حدثنا شبابة بن سوار ، حدثنا عاصم وهو ابن محمد العمري ، عن ابيه ، عن ابن عمر ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" إن الإسلام بدا غريبا، وسيعود غريبا، كما بدا وهو يارز بين المسجدين، كما تارز الحية في جحرها".
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar ('Abdullah bin 'Umar) that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) observed: Verily Islam started as something strange and it would again revert (to its old position) of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.

حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير وابو اسامة ، عن عبيد الله بن عمر . ح وحدثنا ابن نمير ، حدثنا ابي ، حدثنا عبيد الله ، عن خبيب بن عبد الرحمن ، عن حفص بن عاصم ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " إن الإيمان ليارز إلى المدينة، كما تارز الحية إلى جحرها ".
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: Verily the faith would recede to Madinah just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.
