Hadith Number: 135
Sayyiduna ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) asked (Humran) for a vessel of water. (And after receiving it, first) he poured water on his palms three times, then washed them. After that, he put his right hand into the vessel and (taking water) rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose, then washed his face three times. And washed both hands up to the elbows three times. Then he wiped his head. Then he washed both feet up to the ankles three times. Then he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever performs ablution like this of mine and then offers two rak‘ahs in which he does not talk to himself, his past sins are forgiven.”
