Hadith Number: 680
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) set out towards Makkah (on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah) during Ramadan while he was fasting, but when he reached Kadid, he broke his fast, and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), seeing him, also broke their fast.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey (the expedition of conquest). He saw that people were shading a man. He asked, "What is the matter?" The people said, "He is fasting." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It is not a good deed to fast while traveling."

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we used to travel with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) (in Ramadan). Among us were some who were fasting and some who were not fasting, but neither the fasting person found fault with the non-fasting person, nor did the non-fasting person find fault with the fasting person.
