Hadith Number: 1078
حدثنا عبد الله بن عمرو الغزي ، قال: ثنا ابو مسهر ، عن سعيد بن عبد العزيز ، عن مكحول ، عن زياد بن جارية ، عن حبيب بن مسلمة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" انه نفل الربع بعد الخمس" .
Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give one-fourth as a gift after taking out the khums.

حدثنا عباس بن الوليد ، ان اباه ، اخبره قال، سعيد بن عبد العزيز قال: ثنا مكحول ، عن زياد بن جارية ، عن حبيب بن مسلمة رضي الله عنه، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" انه نفل الربع في البداة، والثلث في الرجعة" .
Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), at the beginning of jihad, after taking out the khums, used to give one-fourth as a gift, and after returning from jihad, one-third.
