The Book of Fasting
باب بَيَانِ مَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لاَ يَنْقُصَانِ» :
Chapter: The meaning of the Prophet's words: "The two months of 'Id cannot both be incomplete"

حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى ، قال: اخبرنا يزيد بن زريع ، عن خالد ، عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي بكرة ، عن ابيه رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " شهرا عيد لا ينقصان، رمضان وذو الحجة ".
The son of Abu Bakra (RA) reported it on the authority of his father that the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had said: The two months of 'Id, Ramadan and Dhu'l-Hijja (are not incomplete).

حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان ، عن إسحاق بن سويد ، وخالد ، عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي بكرة ، عن ابي بكرة ، ان نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " شهرا عيد لا ينقصان "، في حديث خالد: " شهرا عيد رمضان وذو الحجة ".
'Abd ar-Rahman bin Abu Bakra (RA) reported on the authority of Abu Bakra (RA) that the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had said: The months of 'Id are not incomplete. And in the hadith narrated by Khalid (the words are):" The months, of 'Id are Ramadan and Dhu'l-Hijjah."
