بَابُ ذِكْرِ صَلَاةِ الْمُفْتَرِضِ خَلْفَ الْمُتْنَفِلِ
Chapter on the obligatory prayer behind one performing a voluntary prayer

حدثنا حدثنا ابو بكر النيسابوري، نا إبراهيم بن مرزوق، ثنا ابو عاصم، عن ابن جريج، عن عمرو بن دينار ، اخبرني جابر بن عبد الله ، ان معاذا " كان يصلي مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم العشاء، ثم ينصرف إلى قومه فيصلي بهم، هي له تطوع ولهم فريضة" .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform the 'Isha prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then he would return to his locality and lead his people in prayer. That prayer was voluntary (nafl) for Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) and obligatory (fard) for those people.

حدثنا حدثنا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، ثنا عبد الرحمن بن بشر ، وابو الازهر، قالا: نا عبد الرزاق ، انا ابن جريج، اخبرني عمرو بن دينار ، اخبرني جابر بن عبد الله ، ان معاذا " كان يصلي مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم العشاء، ثم ينصرف إلى قومه فيصلي لهم تلك الصلاة، هي له نافلة ولهم فريضة" .
