بَابُ صَلَاةِ النِّسَاءِ جَمَاعَةً وَمَوْقِفِ إِمَامِهِنَّ
Chapter on women praying in congregation and the position of their imam

حدثنا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، ثنا احمد بن منصور ، ثنا ابو احمد الزبيري ، ثنا الوليد بن جميع ، حدثتني جدتي ، عن ام ورقة وكانت تؤم، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" اذن لها ان تؤم اهل دارها" .
Sayyida Umm Waraqah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to lead (women) in prayer. She narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had granted her this permission; she used to lead the women of her neighborhood (in prayer).

حدثنا حدثنا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، ثنا احمد بن منصور ، ثنا يزيد بن ابي حكيم ، اخبرنا سفيان، حدثني ميسرة بن حبيب النهدي ، عن ريطة الحنفية، قالت:" امتنا عائشة، فقامت بينهن في الصلاة المكتوبة" .
Raytah Hanafiya narrates: Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to lead us in prayer; she would stand among the women during the obligatory prayer.

حدثنا حدثنا ابو بكر ، ثنا احمد بن يوسف السلمي ، ثنا عبد الرحمن، انا سفيان، عن عمار الدهني ، عن حجيرة بنت حصين، قالت:" امتنا ام سلمة في صلاة العصر، فقامت بيننا" . حديث رواه الحجاج بن ارطاة، عن قتادة فوهم فيه، وخالفه الحفاظ شعبة، وسعيد وغيرهما.
Hujaira bint Husain narrates: Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) led us in the ‘Asr prayer, and she stood among us. This narration is also transmitted through some other sources; however, there is some confusion in its chain of transmission, and some have opposed it.

حدثنا احمد بن نصر بن سندويه ، ثنا يوسف بن موسى ، ثنا سلمة بن الفضل ، ثنا حجاج بن ارطاة ، عن قتادة ، عن زرارة بن اوفى ، عن عمران بن حصين ، قال: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي بالناس ورجل يقرا خلفه، فلما فرغ قال:" من ذا الذي يختلج سورتهم؟"، فنهاهم عن القراءة خلف الإمام . قوله: فنهاهم عن القراءة خلف الإمام، وهم من حجاج، والصواب ما رواه شعبة، وسعيد بن ابي عروبة، وغيرهما، عن قتادة.
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading the people in prayer, and a man recited (Qur’an) behind him. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he said:“Who is the person trying to cause disruption between these surahs?”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the people from reciting behind the imam. Imam Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) states: The wording of this narration,“The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the people from reciting behind the imam,”is a mistake of the narrator, which occurred to Hajjaj. The correct narration is that which other narrators have transmitted from Qatadah.

حدثنا عمر بن احمد بن علي بن احمد القطان ، ثنا محمد بن حسان الازرق ، ثنا شبابة ، ثنا شعبة ، عن قتادة ، عن زرارة بن اوفى ، عن عمران بن حصين ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الظهر فقرا: سبح اسم ربك الاعلى، فقال:" ايكم القارئ؟"، فقال الرجل: انا، فقال:" لقد ظننت ان بعضكم خالجنيها" . قال شعبة: قلت لقتادة: اكره ذلك؟ قال: لو كره ذلك لنهى عنه.
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah Al-A'la while performing the Zuhr prayer. (After completing the prayer) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who among you was reciting (Qur'an)?" A man replied: "I was." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was thinking that someone was causing an interruption." Shu'bah narrates: I asked Qatadah: Did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) consider this to be disliked? He replied: If he had considered it disliked, he would have prohibited it.
