Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her regarding her Umrah, that is, the Umrah which Sayyidah Aisha had performed: "The reward of your Umrah will be according to what you have spent."

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired from her about her Umrah: "The reward for your Umrah will be according to the hardship you endured and the expenses you incurred."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The person performing ‘Umrah should continue reciting the Talbiyah until he begins the Tawaf.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the person who combines ‘Umrah with Hajj, performing Hajj Tamattu‘, that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever performs seven circuits (Tawaf) of the House of Allah, and performs Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah, then when the day of sacrifice comes, he will only perform Tawaf of the House of Allah; at that time, he will not perform Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah.”

Saeed bin Musayyib narrates: Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them) both came for Hajj. On the way, Sayyiduna Uthman forbade combining Umrah with Hajj as Tamattu’. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was informed that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) had prohibited Hajj Tamattu’, so Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said:“When you see that he has departed, then you also depart.”Then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions began reciting the Talbiyah for Umrah, but Sayyiduna Uthman did not stop them. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said:“I have come to know that you have prohibited combining Umrah as Tamattu’.”So he replied:“Yes!”Then Sayyiduna Ali said to him:“Did you not hear that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Tamattu’?”He replied:“Yes.”

Saeed bin al-Musayyib narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) went for Hajj. On the way, it was conveyed to Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Uthman had forbidden his companions from combining Umrah with Hajj, that is, from performing Hajj Tamattu’. So Sayyiduna Ali said to his companions: "When Sayyiduna Uthman departs, you also depart." The narrator states: Then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions donned the Ihram for Umrah, and Sayyiduna Uthman did not say anything to them. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Uthman: "It has been conveyed to me about you that you have forbidden your companions from combining Umrah with Hajj, that is, from Hajj Tamattu’. Did you not hear about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he performed Hajj Tamattu’?" So Sayyiduna Uthman replied: "Yes." Saeed narrates: I do not know what Sayyiduna Uthman replied to them.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this: "I am present for Hajj and ‘Umrah together." This narration is also transmitted with another chain of narration.

Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah narrates from his father: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) combined Hajj and Umrah, and he was aware that he would not perform Hajj after this.
