It is narrated about Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): He separated a husband and wife. The narrator states: "This refers to the person who got married while in the state of Ihram."

Qudamah says: I asked Sa'id bin al-Musayyib about a person in the state of ihram getting married, so he said: "Separation will be enforced between the husband and wife."

Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person in the state of ihram can neither marry himself nor arrange the marriage of someone else."

Ikrimah bin Khalid narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about a woman whom someone from outside Makkah wants to marry, and he is going for Umrah or Hajj. He replied: "When you are in the state of Ihram, do not marry, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade this."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A person in the state of ihram cannot contract marriage himself, nor can he arrange the marriage of someone else, nor can he give a marriage proposal."

Nafi‘ narrates from Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): He reported from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:“A person in the state of ihram cannot contract marriage himself, nor can he arrange the marriage of someone else, nor can he propose marriage, nor can he propose on behalf of someone else.”

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person in the state of ihram can neither marry himself nor arrange the marriage of someone else."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Lady Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), he (peace be upon him) was not in the state of ihram at that time.

Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her, he was not in the state of ihram, and when Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) was sent to his house, at that time too, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not in the state of ihram.

Yazid bin Asam narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) married Lady Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), he was not in the state of ihram at that time, and when Lady Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) was sent off (i.e., the marriage was consummated), the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was also not in the state of ihram at that time. Lady Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away at a place called Sarif.
