Chapters on Ablution
(الْفَصْلُ الْأَوَّلُ فِي ذَمِّ الْوَسْوَسَةِ وَكَرَاهَةِ الْإِسْرَافِ فِي مَاءِ الْوُضُوءِ
The First Section on Condemning Obsessiveness and Disliking Wastefulness in Ablution Water
Hadith Number: 608
عن ابي بن كعب رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال: ((للوضوء شيطان يقال له الولهان، فاتقوه، او قال: فاحذروه))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is a devil of ablution, he is called «وَلَہَان» , so beware of him."

حكم: اسناده ضعيف جدا
Hadith Number: 609
عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنه ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم مر بسعد وهو يتوضا، فقال: ((ما هذا السرف يا سعد؟)) قال: افي الوضوء سرف؟ قال: ((نعم، وإن كنت على نهر جار))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was performing ablution. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Sa’d! What is this extravagance?”He said:“Is there extravagance even in ablution?”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied:“Yes, even if you are at a flowing river.”
