أَبْوَابُ الْوُضُوءِ
Chapters on Ablution
الْفَصْلُ الثَّانِي فِي إِسْبَاغِ الْوُضُوءِ وَقَوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ
The Second Section on Perfecting Ablution and the Saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him):“Woe to the Heels from the Fire”
Hadith Number: 684
عن سالم سبلان قال: خرجنا مع عائشة رضي الله عنها إلى مكة، قال: وكانت تخرج بابي يحيى التيمي يصلي بها فادركنا عبد الرحمن بن ابي بكر الصديق فاساء عبد الرحمن الوضوء، فقالت عائشة: يا عبد الرحمن! اسبغ الوضوء فإني سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يقول: ((ويل للاعقاب يوم القيامة من النار))
Salim Sablān, may Allah have mercy on him, says: We were traveling towards Makkah Mukarramah with Sayyidah Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. Sayyidah used to travel with Abu Yahya Taymi, and he would lead her in prayer. One day we met Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, and he performed an incomplete ablution. Sayyidah Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said to him: "O Abdur Rahman! Complete your ablution, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Woe to the heels from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.'"

Hadith Number: 685
(ومن طريق آخر) عن ابي سلمة قال: توضا عبد الرحمن عند عائشة رضي الله عنها فقالت: يا عبد الرحمن! اسبغ الوضوء فإني سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يقول: ((ويل للعراقيب من النار))
Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: When Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) performed ablution in the presence of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said to him: "O Abdur Rahman! Perform ablution completely, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Woe to the heels (and upper parts of the feet) from the Fire.'"

Hadith Number: 686
عن جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنه قال: راى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قوما يتوضاون فلم يمسس اعقابهم الماء، فقال: ((ويل للاعقاب، (وفي رواية: للعراقيب) من النار))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw some people who had performed ablution but water had not reached their heels, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Woe to the heels from the Fire."

Hadith Number: 687
عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنه قال: راى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قوما يتوضاون واعقابهم تلوح فقال: ((ويل للاعقاب من النار، اسبغوا الوضوء))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw some people who had performed ablution, but the dryness of their heels was clearly visible, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Woe to the heels from the Fire! Perform ablution thoroughly."

عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم نحوه
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has also narrated a similar hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hadith Number: 689
عن عبد الله بن الحارث بن جزء رضي الله عنه قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يقول: ((ويل للاعقاب وبطون الاقدام من النار))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Woe from the Fire to the heels and the soles of the feet."

Hadith Number: 690
عن سعيد بن خثيم الهلالي قال: حدثتني جدتي ربعية بنت عياض الكلابية عن جدها عبيدة بن عمرو الكلابي رضي الله عنه قال: رايت النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم وهو يتوضا فاسبغ الطهور، وكانت هي إذا توضات اسبغت الطهور حتى ترفع الخمار فتمسح راسها
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubaidah bin Amr Kalabi (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution, and he (peace be upon him) would perform ablution completely. On this basis, when Rubaiyyah would perform ablution, she would wash each limb thoroughly, to the extent that she would lift her scarf and wipe her head.
