Chapter on the Adhan at the Beginning of Its Time and Giving It Early for Fajr Specifically
Hadith Number: 1298
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) used to call the adhan at the time when the sun declined, and he would not leave out any word of it. Then he would not say the iqamah until the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out; however, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and he saw him, he would then say the iqamah.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Let not Bilal’s call to prayer prevent any of you from your pre-dawn meal (suhoor), for he only calls the adhan so that the one who is standing (in prayer) may return and the one who is sleeping may awaken. And (the true dawn) does not appear in this way (rising upwards), rather it spreads out in this way (across the horizon).”And Ibn Abi ‘Adi Abu ‘Umar, while explaining this example, joined his fingers together and bent them, and made a gap between his index fingers.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so continue eating and drinking until you hear the call to prayer of Ibn Umm Maktum. Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, says that Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man, so he would not give the call to prayer until people said to him, "You have entered the morning."
