Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no one who goes out, who leaves his house, except that there are two flags at his door, one flag in the hand of an angel and one in the hand of Satan. If the person goes out for a deed pleasing to Allah, then the angel takes his flag and walks behind him, and that person remains under the angel’s flag until he returns home. And if he goes out for a deed that angers Allah, then Satan takes his flag and walks behind him, and that person remains under Satan’s flag until he returns home.

When you travel through barren land, move quickly and travel at night, for the earth is folded up at night. And when sorcerer jinn appear in various colors and forms to mislead people from the path, then call the adhan. Avoid praying and camping in the middle of the road, for at night these are the abodes of wild beasts and snakes, etc. Also, avoid urinating or defecating on the road, for this act becomes a cause of curse.
