بَابُ الْيَمِينِ فِي قَطِيعَةِ الرَّحِمِ وَمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ
Chapter on Oaths Concerning Severing Ties of Kinship and What One Does Not Own
Hadith Number: 5352
عن عمرو بن شعيب عن ابيه عن جده رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم لا نذر إلا فيما ابتغي به وجه الله عز وجل ولا يمين في قطيعة رحم
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A vow is only in that matter through which the pleasure of Allah Almighty is sought, and there is no oath in severing ties of kinship.

عن عمرو بن شعيب عن ابيه عن جده رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم لا نذر لابن آدم فيما لا يملك ولا عتق لابن آدم فيما لا يملك ولا طلاق له فيما لا يملك ولا يمين فيما لا يملك
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The son of Adam has no vow in that which he does not own; the son of Adam has no emancipation in that which he does not own; he has no divorce in that which he does not own; and there is no oath in that which he does not own.
