Chapter: Making the defendant swear in cases of wealth, blood, and others when there is no evidence for the claimant
Hadith Number: 6418
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave a verdict based on one witness and an oath. Zaid bin Hubab says: I asked Sayyiduna Malik bin Anas about the oath and witness, whether it is sufficient in cases of divorce and the emancipation of a slave as well? He said: No, this is only for transactions such as buying and selling.
