Interpretation from Surah Al-A'la to Surah An-Nas
بَابُ سَبَبٍ نُزُولِهَا وَ نَفْسِيرِهَا بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِهَا
Chapter on the reason for its revelation and its explanation, and what has been narrated regarding its virtue
Hadith Number: 8856
عن ابي بن كعب رضي الله عنه ان المشركين قالوا للنبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم انسب لنا ربك فانزل الله تبارك وتعالى قل هو الله احد الله الصمد لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا احد [الإخلاص: 1-4]
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the polytheists said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Describe to us the lineage of your Lord," Allah Almighty revealed this Surah: {قُلْ ھُوَ اللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ۔ اَللّٰہُ الصَّمَدُ۔ لَمْ یَلِدْ وَلمْ یُوْلَدْ۔ وَلَمْ یَکُنْ لَّہٗ کُفُوًااَحَدٌ۔} … Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Self-Sufficient. He neither begets nor is born, and there is none comparable to Him.
