Explanation of the Stories of the Prophets of Allah, Peace Be Upon Them
Chapter: What has been reported regarding the Prophet of Allah Nuh (Noah) and Allah Almighty's saying: "And thus We have made you a just community"
Hadith Number: 10322
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Nuh (peace be upon him) will be called and it will be said to him: Did you convey the message of Allah? He will say: Yes. Then his people will be called and it will be asked of them: Did Nuh (peace be upon him) convey the message to you? They will say: No warner came to us, or no such person came to us. Then it will be said to Nuh (peace be upon him): Who will testify on your behalf? He will say: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah. This is the meaning of Allah Almighty’s statement: And thus We have made you a just community. The meaning of“just”is those who do justice. Then the Ummah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will be called, so they will bear witness that Nuh (peace be upon him) conveyed the message. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then I will bear witness over you.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed, the people of the Plain of Gathering will come to Nuh (peace be upon him) and say: O Nuh! You were the first messenger sent to the people of the earth, Allah Almighty called you a very grateful servant, so intercede for us with your Lord, do you not see the state we are in, do you not see the distress we are suffering? Nuh (peace be upon him) will say: Indeed, my Lord is so angry today that He has never been so angry before, nor will He ever be so angry after this. I had one supplication to make, but I have already used it against my people. Woe to myself, woe to myself, woe to myself. Go, you should go to someone else.

. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), while narrating the hadith about intercession, says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then Noah (peace be upon him) will say: I am not worthy of it, I made a supplication because of which the people of the earth were drowned, today my own soul has made me restless.
