Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: I heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: There is no divination but the best type is the good omen. It was said to Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ): What is good omen? Thereupon he said: A good word which one of you hears.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.

Anas reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but good omen pleases me, i. e. the good word or a good word.

Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but good omen pleases me. It was said: What is good omen? He said: Sacred words.

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but I like good words.

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no hama, no divination, but I like good omen.

'Abdullah bin 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: If there be bad luck, it is in the house, and the wife, and the horse.

'Abdullah bin 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying. There is no transitive disease, no ill omen, and bad luck is found in the house, or wife or horse.

And Ibn Abi ‘Umar narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim and Hamzah, the two sons of ‘Abdullah, from their father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

And Yahya ibn Yahya, and ‘Amr al-Naqid, and Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

And ‘Amr al-Naqid narrated to us, Ya‘qub ibn Ibrahim ibn Sa‘d narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim and Hamzah, the two sons of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

And ‘Abd al-Malik ibn Shu‘ayb ibn al-Layth ibn Sa‘d narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, ‘Uqayl ibn Khalid narrated to me.

And Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal informed us, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq.

And ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Darimi narrated to me, Abu al-Yaman informed us, Shu‘ayb informed us, all of them from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding bad omens, similar to the hadith of Malik. None of them mention in the hadith of Ibn ‘Umar contagion and bird omens except Yunus ibn Yazid.

'Umar bin Muhammad bin Zaid reported that he heard his father narrating from Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had said. If bad luck is a fact, then it is in the horse, the woman and the house.
