قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {اللهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلا نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلا بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ}
His saying, Exalted is He: {Allah—there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.}

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Everything has a pinnacle, and the pinnacle of the Noble Qur'an is Surah Al-Baqarah, and in it there is a verse which is the chief verse of the Noble Qur'an. If it is recited in a house where there is a devil, he leaves from there.

Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The heavens and the earth, in comparison to the Kursi, are like a ring lying in a vast open field of the earth.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The greatest verse in the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is: "Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep." So Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: You have spoken the truth.

Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "There is no sky, no earth, no plain, and no mountain greater than Ayat al-Kursi." Shutair said: "And I have heard it as well."
