Hadith Number: 324
نا هشيم قال: انا ابن ابي ليلى، عن الحكم، عن إبراهيم انه قال مثل قول الحسن.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) also affirmed the statement of Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him).

نا هشيم، قال: انا شيخ من اهل الكوفة , عن الشعبي انه كان يقول: " لا يجوز إقراره لها عند الموت إلا ان يكون إقراره في الصحة قبل المرض , لانها وارث ولا تجوز وصية لوارث" . قال هشيم: وهو القول.
Al-Sha'bi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "If a person, at the time of his death, acknowledges the dowry (mahr) of his wife, this acknowledgment is not valid, except if he had made this acknowledgment while in good health, because she is an heir, and it is not permissible to make a bequest in favor of an heir."
