المُقَدِّمَةُ
Introduction
باب الاعتصام بالسنة وما يتعلق بها نقلا وأمرا وزجرا - ذكر الإخبار عما يجب على المرء من لزوم سنن المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم-
Chapter: Holding fast to the Sunnah – Reporting the obligation to adhere to the Prophet’s traditions.
Hadith Number: 6
اخبرنا إبراهيم بن علي بن عبد العزيز العمري بالموصل، حدثنا معلى بن مهدي ، حدثنا حماد بن زيد ، عن عاصم ، عن ابي وائل، عن ابن مسعود ، قال: خط لنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خطا، فقال:" هذا سبيل الله"، ثم خط خطوطا عن يمينه وعن شماله، ثم قال:" وهذه سبل على كل سبيل منها شيطان يدعو إليه"، ثم تلا: وان هذا صراطي مستقيما سورة الانعام آية 153 إلى آخر الآية.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: (On one occasion) the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) drew a line before us and said:“This is the path of Allah.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drew some other lines to the right and left of that line, and then said:“These are different paths, upon each of which there is a devil calling towards it.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse:“Indeed, this is My path, which is straight.”He recited this verse till the end.
