ذكر الخبر الدال على إباحة كتمان العالم بعض ما يعلم من العلم إذا علم أن قلوب المستمعين له لا تحتمله-
Evidence that a scholar may conceal some knowledge if listeners cannot bear it
Hadith Number: 97
اخبرنا الحسين بن احمد بن بسطام بالابلة، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن سعيد الكندي ، قال: حدثنا ابن إدريس ، عن الاعمش ، عن عبد الله بن مرة ، عن مسروق ، عن عبد الله ، قال: بينما النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في بعض حيطان المدينة متوكئا على عسيب، إذ جاءته اليهود، فسالته عن الروح، فنزلت: ويسالونك عن الروح قل الروح من امر ربي وما اوتيتم من العلم إلا قليلا سورة الإسراء آية 85 .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in a garden in Madinah, leaning against a branch (trunk). Some Jews came to him. They asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the soul. Then this verse was revealed: 'They ask you concerning the soul. Say: The soul is from the command of my Lord, and you have been given only a little knowledge.'"
