Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – Striving in various acts of obedience during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah is recommended.
Hadith Number: 324
اخبرنا جعفر بن احمد بن سنان القطان بواسط، حدثنا ابي ، حدثنا ابو معاوية ، حدثنا الاعمش ، عن مسلم البطين ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ما من ايام العمل الصالح فيها احب إلى الله من هذه الايام العشر"، قالوا: يا رسول الله، ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله؟ قال:" ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله، إلا رجل خرج بنفسه وماله، ثم لم يرجع من ذلك بشيء" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." We asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even striving in the way of Allah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even striving in the way of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and wealth and returns with nothing of it (i.e., he sacrifices both)."
