Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – Command to be strict in matters and not rely solely on acts of obedience.
Hadith Number: 348
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، حدثنا ابو الوليد الطيالسي ، حدثنا ليث بن سعد ، عن بكير بن عبد الله الاشج ، عن بسر بن سعيد ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " ما منكم من احد ينجيه عمله"، فقال له رجل: ولا انت يا رسول الله؟ قال:" ولا انا إلا ان يتغمدني الله برحمته ولكن سددوا" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "None of you will be saved by his deeds." A person asked in your presence: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Not even me. Except that Allah Almighty has enveloped me in His mercy, so you should adopt moderation."
