باب ما جاء في الطاعات وثوابها - ذكر الإخبار بأن مغفرة الله جل وعلا تكون أقرب إلى المطيع من تقربه بالطاعة إلى الباري جل وعلا
Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – Allah’s forgiveness is closer to the obedient than their own efforts.
Hadith Number: 376
اخبرنا اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن المتوكل ، قال: حدثنا المعتمر بن سليمان ، قال: حدثني ابي ، قال: انبانا انس بن مالك ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" قال الله تبارك وتعالى: إذا تقرب عبدي مني شبرا، تقربت منه ذراعا، وإذا تقرب مني ذراعا، تقربت منه باعا، وإذا اتاني مشيا، اتيته هرولة، وإن هرول سعيت إليه، والله اوسع بالمغفرة" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Allah Almighty says: When My servant draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by a cubit; and when he draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by a fathom; and when he comes to Me walking, I go to him running; and if he comes to Me running, I go to him even more swiftly. And Allah Almighty is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
