Chapter on Poverty, Asceticism, and Contentment – On the warning against acquiring estates, as it increases attachment to the world except for those protected by Allah
Hadith Number: 710
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا ابو خيثمة ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن خازم ، عن الاعمش ، عن شمر بن عطية ، عن المغيرة بن سعد بن الاخرم ، عن ابيه ، عن عبد الله بن مسعود ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا تتخذوا الضيعة، فترغبوا في الدنيا" قال عبد الله: وبالمدينة وما بالمدينة، وبراذان وما براذان.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Do not accumulate much provision, you will become inclined towards the world.”Sayyiduna Abdullah says: Whatever is in“Madina”is in Madina, and whatever is in“Razaan”is in Razaan.
