باب الاستعاذة - ذكر ما يستحب للمرء أن يتعوذ بالله جل وعلا من النفاق في دينه والرياء في طاعته
Chapter of Seeking Refuge - Recommendation to seek refuge in Allah from hypocrisy in religion and showing off in worship
Hadith Number: 1023
اخبرنا احمد بن يحيى بن زهير الحافظ ، بتستر، قال: حدثنا احمد بن منصور ، قال: حدثنا عبد الصمد بن النعمان ، قال: حدثنا شيبان ، عن قتادة ، عن انس ، قال: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يدعو، يقول: " اللهم إني اعوذ بك من العجز والكسل، والبخل والهرم، والقسوة والغفلة، والذلة والمسكنة، واعوذ بك من الفقر والكفر، والشرك والنفاق، والسمعة والرياء، واعوذ بك من الصمم والبكم، والجنون، والبرص والجذام، وسييء الاسقام" .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, miserliness, old age, hardness of the heart, heedlessness, humiliation, and poverty. And I seek refuge in You from destitution, disbelief, polytheism, hypocrisy, show-off. And I seek refuge in You from deafness, dumbness, insanity, leucoderma, leprosy, and evil diseases."
