Chapter on the Sunnahs of Ablution - Clarification that rubbing the arms is required when water is scarce
Hadith Number: 1083
اخبرنا احمد بن يحيى بن زهير ، قال: حدثنا ابو كريب ، قال: حدثنا ابن ابي زائدة ، عن شعبة ، عن حبيب بن زيد ، عن عباد بن تميم ، عن عمه عبد الله بن زيد ،" ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اتي بثلثي مد ماء، فتوضا فجعل يدلك ذراعيه" .
Ubad bin Tamim narrates this statement from his uncle, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him): Two-thirds of a mudd of water was brought to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He performed ablution, and he joined his two arms together.
